Woman Jailed For Being Obnoxiously Intimate

Some things just need to be kept behind closed doors.  No need to air one’s dirty laundry, as they say, especially when it comes to intimate interactions.  Better to be safe than sorry.23-year-old Gemma Wale was recently ordered to serve two weeks in jail for breaching an “anti-social behavior” ordinance put into place where she lived in Birmingham, England. Her 40-year-old, neighbor, Ghazala Bibi, decided to call police on the night of January 29th after she was forced into hearing obscene screaming and yelling coming from Wale’s residence, which lasted for approximately ten minutes.  Bibi told investigators she had awakened to the couple engaging in what she believed to be obnoxiously loud sexual intercourse, which was in clear violation of local laws.

Judge Kelly indicated that Wale lived in a property owned by Birmingham council and said she had heard evidence from a council housing officer and one of Miss Wale's neighbors supporting breach of the anti-social law.  The testimony was all she needed to believe the Wale was causing a ruckus.  She wrote in her order, “I am satisfied that during the course of the early hours of January 29, 2015, at around 5am, the defendant was guilty of screaming and shouting whilst having sex at a level of noise which caused nuisance or annoyance to (a neighbor).”  Also acknowledged in the written order issued this month was the fact that Wale had breached the order by arguing with her boyfriend, swearing at a neighbor, "banging around the house" and "running around in the property".  In conclusion, Judge Kelly wrote, “In light of the amount of breaches found, the lack of remorse and the defendant’s attendance at court literally days before half of these breaches took place, I take the view that an immediate term of imprisonment is justified on the facts of this case.  I take the view that a period fourteen days immediate imprisonment is appropriate to run concurrently on each breach.”
