Texas AG Paxton Files Lawsuit Against Biden Admin for "Encouraging Spread" of COVID Along Border
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed his eighth lawsuit against the Biden administration, claiming that the White House’s new immigration rules encourage the spread of novel coronavirus along the U.S.-Mexico border. On Thursday, Paxton released a statement in which he said that President Joe Biden’s decision to permit asylum-seeking migrants into the United States “creates an undeniable crisis along our southern border.”“This reckless policy change stifles the reopening of the Texas economy at a time when businesses need it the most and when our children need to get back to in-person learning as soon as possible,” Paxton said. “Law and order must be immediately upheld and enforced to ensure the safety of our communities and the reopening of the strongest economy of the country.”In his lawsuit, Paxton alleges that the Biden administration’s approach towards asylum-seekers and other undocumented migrants violates the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 guidelines.
