If you're a fan of baking, you may want to check your pantry. Earlier this week, Hometown Food Company issued a recall of certain lots of Pillsbury Unbleached All-Purpose Flour over concerns it may be contaminated with salmonella. According to the notice, the affected flour was sold in Winn-Dixie and Publix stores.

So far, about 12,185 cases of flour have been impacted by the recall. To better identify whether you have one of the recalled products, take a peek at the lot number or 'Use-By' date. According to the notice, the lot numbers of the recalled bags of flour are 8 292 and 8 293 and the 'Use-By' dates include April 19, 2020, and April 20, 2020.Fortunately, there have been no reports of illnesses linked to the recall. Additionally, no other Pillsbury products are included in the recall. For now, if you or someone you know has the recalled flour in your home, you should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.Salmonella is a serious illness that infects an estimated 1.2 million people in the U.S. each year. Symptoms may include stomach cramps, diarrhea, body chills, fever, nausea. In rare cases, it may result in kidney failure. To help prevent infection, its advisable to wash your hands frequently.
