Hungry Man Frozen Dinner Joins Growing List of Recalled Products Over Salmonella Concerns
Another product was just recalled over salmonella fears. This time, the product in question is a Hungry Man frozen meal produced by Pinnacle Foods, Inc. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued the public health alert earlier this week amid concerns the product “may have been contaminated with Salmonella from whey powder that has also been recalled.” The potentially tainted whey powder “is an FDA-regulated product that is being voluntarily recalled by the producer,” according to the notice. The specific Hungry Man product that was recalled is the “5.25-oz. individual frozen microwavable dinners with 'HUNGRY MAN CHIPOTLE BBQ SAUCED BONELESS CHICKEN WYNGZ' printed on the label.” The product's 'Best Buy' date is September 6, 2019, and it “bears establishment number 'EST. P138' or 'P-138' on the side of the carton.” According to the notice, the recalled products were shipped to retailers throughout Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
